3rd Thursday Meeting
It has been decided that Soroptimist, as Churchill County Chamber members, can attend the Chamber meetings on the 3rd Thursday of each month. We will no longer meet on that day.
A number of Soroptimist members belong to the Chamber through their business. It has been difficult for them to attend Soroptimist meetings on that day due to this committment. This is a great opportunity to meet and recruit new members. Cost for lunch is $10 if you RSVP or $12 if you don't. The Chamber meets at the Convention Center. Contact the Chamber if you plan to attend their meeting.
"S" Club attends Soroptimist Meeting
A special evening was held on January 17 to present S Club pins to the newly organized club, and to present a check for $250 to the Violet Richardson Award winner, Pamela White and to induct new Soroptimist Member Maxine Capriolli.
Soroptimist S Club chair, Wendee Gabel and committee member Kelly Helton passed out the S Club pins to an exuberant bunch of young ladies. The S Club's Churchill County High School teacher advisors were present to cheer them on.
It was decided that when S Club members graduate they need to recruit a new member from a lower grade and pass on their pin.
So far S Club has done a coat drive to benefit members of the community who can not afford a coat. members have been asked to help out with the 8th Annual Home Garden and Rec Show.
